Hello all,

I know this is a little off topic, but I am going on a car camping trip through the Maritimes and need some advice on selecting a car campground near Cavendish and Summerside. I was hoping some of my CCR friends could point me to which campground they like the best.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

HI Corkercoon,
We just got back from a 2 week trip out east : Forillion, Kouchibouguac, and PEI NPs. On PEI we stayed in the Cavendish campground. I think that is the only one with direct beach access. They have some oceanfront sites there with and awesome view, but they are pretty open and windy so we opted for a more sheltered site back in the forest. I found that the sites here generally didn't have as much privacy as some of the other national parks, but it was better than a private campground.
Have a great trip.
Cheers,
Jeff

I too was hoping to do a trip down east, but my hubby had some silly idea about a Disney World sale (still have not reconciled myself to it - can you paddle at Disney world?. Any way, some super people on this site put together fantastic information for me, and I was able to lay out a great trip (which will have to wait now until next year). I bumped the post up, so it should be right with this one on the newest posts.

We camped in the North Rustico campground and found some more private sites. It is also a more quiet area. We drove to Cavendish for a day trip and took in an afternoon paddle up a nearby river.
