Two years of total neglect and now I'm back saucily posting a trip report.

Four days through the central-north part of Algonquin Park starting at Cedar Lake. See: Cedar Hogan Catfish

Cmkl, nice trip report. You sure like to portage, over 5 kms a day are more than I like to tackle. You made the right call by shortening the trip, you would have been quite tired the third day and without two pfd's an accident waiting to happen. Losing a pfd isn't nice but you were careful about it and finishing the trip like you did was the safest.

Glad to see you back, Chris, and with another "cmkl" style trip report to boot. I've missed those.

Definitely surprising that you forgot your camera, but those "phone photos" are pretty good.

And a good call about cutting the trip short, after the pfd loss.

A little quibble, the devil being in the details....Hogan does indeed allow 6hp motors, but they are banned from the last Friday in June to the first Monday in September inclusive. The same restrictions apply to Big Crow Lake, Lake La Muir, Proulx (and river to) Lake, Little Crow Lake and White Partridge Lake.

Have you seen this map?

Thanks for that info. I've added it to the day 4 page, along with a link to this thread.

Some time I will check the map you mention against my track log to see how it does describing the Little Mad. I had seen it before, but it didn't occur to my why I might need it.

Now it does.
