So after much debate I have decided to switch from the Anderson to the Horton. I am looking to start in early July on Horton Lake. Has anybody heard of flying to one of the gravel bars on the Horton river before Horton Lake breaks up? I was thinking around the 3rd week of June.
I am also looking for people to share the flight in with. I am one man with a folding canoe and around 200 lbs of gear for a total weight under 500 lbs.
Thanks

Don't know about the Anderson but you will love the Horton. It is a wonderful trip. I have not heard about gravel bar drop offs on the upper Horton. Some folks fly in with floats to a spot downriver quite a long ways. I can't remember the name of the area right now. We flew in to Horton Lake right around Canada Day I believe. Horton Lake was open enough for a landing. Who are you using for your flight in? Are you flying in from Norman Wells?
