Does anyone know whether or not ticks (any of the various types) have been encountered (yet??) in the Lac La Ronge Provincial Park area in Saskatchewan?

I've searched old posts on this site and have found no mention of them there, and I've found nothing specific on any of the government sites that indicates that they've been seen that far north.

I'll be tripping there for a few weeks later this year and I'm wondering if I should order some permethrin from the U.S. for my clothing.

Thanks guys!

Its possible. This site saysthroughout Canada.

I wouldn't depend on Permethrin. I used to live where Lyme originated and never got it. I did do inspections daily though. I guess having had ticks around since 1980 at least has made me somewhat blase and unparanoid.

If there are deer, count on ticks.

Yes, order permethrin as an added defense against ticks. It seems ticks and mosquitoes are at an all time high this year.

No, I don't think you'll see ticks in the La Ronge area. Likely there are a few there having been carried by us interlopers travelling from farther south, but they should be extremely few and far between.

I'd worry more about other biting arthropods.

I have never gotten a tick North of Prince Albert.

The ticks are pretty much done in the southern part of the Province where I am also
