The last International race that I participated in as an paddler was in C2.
The one race because they needed a C2 forerunner too and we were definitely the weakest team, we scored an extra run, there was one move that was really (really) sketchy. Sketchy being if we screwed up there was a very good chance of being pinned.
In course approval foreruns, you work your way down the course in sections so we had lots of prep time for the move.
The Sketchy move was faster (direct)
We made the move, but they changed the course over safety considerations
When I did a lot of teaching people had a hard time believing that paddling C2 was harder than solo,
But it really is, there is so much more involved let alone the weight.
A course that takes a fully loaded boat through alders and rocks would be challenging though!
