I was up at the Whitewater Nationals in MInden this past weekend (Aug 17&18) and noticed a couple of things
First something I usually see up there in mid September, hundreds of Cedar Waxwings.
There was only a few left on Sunday Morning and by the afternoon they were all gone.
Then a large flock of small warblers came in, (much harder to photograph

)
Again something that is usually not seen until mid September.
When I got back the birding group I belong to in Algoma was also noticing and posting pics of similar early migrations for Boreal birds.
I also noticed a definite change in the leaves, which was confrimed by the CBC gardening guy on Tuesday.
He drove across the middle part of the province back to Ottawa.
I thought my mind was just playing tricks on me
Then there was the weather warning put out for an very early severe fall storm in the high arctic.
So do the birds and trees know something?
And what is happening in your neck of the woods.
