Our Ultimate Kitchen Kit is the product of many years of canoeing. The following people had input into its design and contents; Ken, Neal, Bo, Emil, and Bob.
The box is a black and yellow plastic tool box from Canadian Tire. The dimensions are 25" X 13.5" X 13". Contents include:
- 2 single burner Coleman stoves
- 2 wash basins
- 1 pair of welder's gloves
- 1 wooden cutting board 10" X 8"
- 1 small bow saw - 18" blade and sheath
- 1 hatchet
- 1 large nesting cook set
- 1 Teflon fry pan - 10"
- 1 folding fire grill - home made
- 1 small bottle of Sunlight dish detergent
- 1 small bottle of Javex
- a whisk
- 1 large plastic spoon
- 1 large plastic ladle
- 1 plastic pasta server
- 1 plastic spatula
- 1 bread knife
- water proof of wooden matches and striker
- 1 can of 3 in 1 oil for stoves
- 1 small jar of coffee
- small box of tea in zip-lock bag,
- 3 scrubbers to clean pots
- 2 small plastic spoons, waterproof salt and pepper
- chemical water treatment kit
- a dish towel and cloth.
The kit is attached to an old external back pack frame using bungee cords.

Bob Shiell is a teacher from London, ON. He is the Executive Director of the Friends of Stoney Creek, and has been a sea scout leader for 25 years. In addition to canoeing, Bob enjoys hiking and winter camping. Bob has paddled the Maitland, Sand, the Temagami area and some rivers & lakes in between.
