Canoe Patch Soup
1 pkg. Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup (or any kind you like)
1 pkg. Mr. Noodle (any flavour) crushed
1/4 c. instant rice
1/4 c. small noodles
handful of different dehydrated veggies
-carrots, corn, peas, cabbage, parsnips, turnip, leeks, tomatoes, potatoes, celery, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts, spinach
1 c. bisuit mix in ziploc bag
Large pot
Put everything in a large pot of water. Simmer until veggies are cooked. Add bisuit mix to make dumplings To make dumplings: Add water to make a very soft dough (thick but runny) Knead well, cut a small hole in the corner of the bag. Drop marble size glops in the soup. Cover and cook until dumplings come to the top and are fluffy. If your dough is too runny you will get a thickened soup that is still good so don't worry too much about it. Use whatever veggies you want and don't worry about the measurements. If you get too much rice or noodles you soup will be mush but with the veggies, the more the better. For the dried potatoes, I buy those at the bulk food store because I haven`t had very good luck trying to dry them and they are reasonably inexpensive.
I made this years ago when the kids were small and they named it and it stuck. It is a filler and makes a good lunch or quick supper. It's also good to take along as a backup because it doesn`t take a lot of space and fills you up.
