GORP Bars

Ingredients: 

margarine

1 pkg. marshmallows

1 pkg. unsweetened chocolate chips peanut butter

(optional) handfuls of oatmeal, wheat germ, sunflower seeds, coconut, Rice Krispies, chopped nuts, currants, raisins, other healthy grains and/or seeds

9x13 baking pan Mixing bowl

Instructions: 

Melt the margarine, marshmallows and chocolate chips in a large pot Add peanut butter if desired A handful at a time, add the other ingredients until you have a fairly solid glob. Turn out into a non-stick glass or aluminum 9x13 pan and pat down until solid. Refrigerate overnight Cut into bite-size pieces and store in a Ziploc bag.

This Gorp packs well, is dense, keeps in the heat, has long and short term energy and kids don't realize how good it is for them because of the chocolate.
